Server Setup

Do you require a minimum rental contract?

No. Servers are rented on a monthly payment schedule. Keep in mind though that cancellations need to be submitted by email or HelpDesk ticket at least 30 days prior to the next billing date.

Are any of my payments refundable?

No. All payments for dedicated server rentals, setup and service fees are non-refundable. A 30 day money back guarantee does NOT apply for any dedicated server payments.

How long does it take for a server to be set up?

On average 3 business days. Dedicated servers need to be manually provisioned and configured by an available technician. Installation and testing of a server is acomplished in 72 hours or less in most cases.

Are servers available with cPanel or Ensim control panels?

All plain RedHat systems can be upgraded to a cPanel X Pro or Ensim Pro system for the same additional fee. Current control panel fees can be seen here.

How many accounts am I allowed to host on a server?

Plain RedHat or cPanel installs allow for an unlimited number of accounts to be installed. Ensim allows for a maximum of 250 accounts.

Can I host adult content?

Yes, but observe the following: Beastiality, child pornography and Incest or pages dealing with minors are not accepted. No illegal content can be hosted on our servers, nor can you link to it or provide information about it.

Can I upgrade my server at a later time?

Yes. Upgrades can be ordered any time.

What upgrades are available?

In most cases we are able to add Hard Drives or System Memory. Processors can NOT be upgraded. If you'd need a faster CPU a server switch would be required.

How much is charged for traffic overage?

$0.95 for each Gigabyte (1024MB)

Can you generate server backups for me?

No. Currently we do not provide any backup services for dedicated servers. Backups are your responsibility.

How fast will my server be connected to the internet?

Servers are now equipped with a full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet card and connected to a 30GB+ internet backbone. Upstream providers used are Time Warner, Verio, Cogent, Allegiance, Williams, MFN, Savvis and ELI.

Will I have root access to my server?

Yes. You will have full access to your server through SSH (port 22).

What is console access?

Console access allows you to connect to your server through a serial cable. This is useful for server diagnostics, since it works when an ethernet connection is not available.

How do I access the console?

Log in to your server control panel, select "System Administration" and click on "Console Access". Then press the "Reactivate" button of the server you try to connect to. Open an SSH client and log on to the "Console IP" listed using the password ("Pass") shown. As username use the mentioned "User"+:+70+"Port".

Example: With a username of "u0309" and a port of 57, the username to use would be u0309:7057 .

Will my servers uptime be monitored?

This is up to you. You can log in to your server control panel and set a variety of monitoring options. You can choose what ports and services to monitor, while alerts can automatically be sent to any email and even to cell phones through SMS.

What is Instant Reboot?

Your server is connected to a power switch which can be turned off and on remotely. This way you can reboot your server without the help of a technician instantly from within your server control panel.

How do I perform an Instant Reboot?

Log in to your server control panel, select "System Administration" and click on "Power Management". Then press the "REBOOT" button and wait till your server comes back up. This should not take longer than 2 to 8 minutes.
